Joan Rivers is being remembered by friends and fans as a comedy legend and a pioneer for women in show business, but a charity that the late comedian worked with is remembering her for the love and compassion she showed to the people she helped.

Rivers worked closely with God's Love We Deliver which aims to improve the nutritional well-being of people living with serious illnesses. She volunteered with group for 25 years, delivering meals and serving on its Board of Directors. Following the news of her death, the organization released a statement saying, "Joan brought love, compassion and humor to every delivery she made and every event she supported. Joan's impact on God's Love will be felt always by our clients, volunteers, staff and community. Rest in peace, Joan. You will forever be in our hearts." The organization also announced that it is naming a bakery after her.
