According to the famous Porgy and Bess aria, “Summertime, and the livin’ is easy.”  Unfortunately for a little dog of the same name, living hasn’t been so easy. This beagle/pug spent the first 2 years of her life in a Tennessee puppy mill with virtually no socialization or creature comforts. But life will be much better for Summertime and the other small mixed-breed dogs rescued with her, some of whom are available for adoption from the Washington Animal Rescue League. Although initially timid, this sweet girl obviously wants attention and quickly warms up to people as long as they’re 12 years or older. She also likes other dogs. So if you’re looking for a small canine companion to share your life with, stop by and meet Summertime and her friends.
