With the Little League World Series getting tons of publicity, it’s amazing to see these high-achieving kids performing at an expert level underneath a very bright spotlight. Good for them.
But what about the rest of the kids in Little League across the country who weren’t good enough to advance to “the big show”?
What about those kids who weren’t even good enough to get into the playoffs in their own cities?
How should they be celebrated? Should they get trophies for just participating?
According to a new survey, young adults do think kids should still get participation trophies.
The survey also found that rich people are against participation trophies far more than poor people. It’s as if people who earn a lot of money believe their kids should earn their trophies as well. (Washington Post)
