Scientists have found a creative way to get dogs to quit barking – pig perfume.

John McGlone, a scientist who works in Texas Technical University’s Animal and Food Sciences Department, developed a spray made with a pheromone released through pigs’ saliva and fat.

While it’s not the most pleasant smell ever, the spray is supposedly 100% effective in stopping dogs from barking.

Also, the scientists reported no adverse health effects on the dogs.

So other than stinking up your house, the pig perfume is cruelty-free and totally efficient.
