Cissy Houston is unhappy with upcoming Lifetime TV movie -- says no one involved knew her.
Whitney Houston's mother says she's not on board with Lifetime's upcoming TV bio-pic on Whitney.
Cissy Houston told ET Tuesday that Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie in spite of her family’s objections. She says she's disturbed that "no one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby [Brown.]"
She also finds it hard to believe that "people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her."
Actress Angela Bassett is directing the film. Former America's Next Top Model contestant Yaya DaCosta will portray Houston, but won't sing her songs. The vocals will be dubbed in by R&B singer Deborah Cox.
Houston says the family is "exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please, please let her rest.”
