National Capital Barbecue Battle - June 21-22, 2014. Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 9th & 14th Sts. Washington DC. Enjoy food samples, cooking demonstrations, interactive displays, live music and children’s activities.

Alexandria Food and Wine Festival - June 21, 2014. Alexandria, VA. Street festival showcasing local food and wine; includes live entertainment, craft vendors and kids activities.

Northern Virginia Summer Brewfest - June 21-22, 2014. Morven Park, Leesburg, VA. Beer festival with food, live entertainment and children's activities.

AFI DOCS Film Festival - June 18-22, 2014. Sponsored by the American Film Institute, showing free films at locations throughout the DC area.

Tall Ship Invasion - June 18-22, 2014. Calvert Marine Museum, Solomons, MD. In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Leonard Creek, four tall ships will be in town offering free tours and public sails.

Loudoun Youthfest - June 21, 2014, 2 p.m. The Barn at One Loudoun: 20450 Savin Hill Drive, Ashburn VA. Features live local teen bands, interactive exhibits, dancers and other stage acts. Exhibits focus on healthy living, after school programs, community organizations, belonging and diversity.

Volkswagen Rallycross DC - June 21-22, 2014.  RFK Stadium Festival Grounds, Washington, DC. Live music, food, entertainment, a VIP club and plenty of great racing. The main event on Sunday airs live on NBC at 2 p.m. ET.  Event attendees are invited to bring non-perishable food items or toiletries to donate to SOME (So Others Might Eat), a DC.-based charity dedicated to serving the poor and homeless.  

DC Bourbon Bash - June 21, 2014. Noon-10 p.m. Kentucky takes over DC as eight popular bars in Chinatown offer a taste of different premium select bourbons -- all included in their ticket price -- as participants journey from bar to bar. A portion of event proceeds benefits Ranger Lead the Way Fund, a nonprofit organization that supports active duty, disabled, and deceased US Army Rangers and their families.

DCTV’s Community Day Festival - June 21, 2014, noon-9 p.m. 901 Newton Street, NE Washington DC. Live music and comedy performances, cuisine from local food trucks, games, vendors, face paint, moon bounce, and more.
