America's Coolest Music Venues

Posted July 3rd, 2014 @ 5:02am by Chilli Amar

There are very few ways to spend time in summer better than going to concerts or seeing live music...But not all concerts are created equal – and not all concert venues are created equal.

According to Huffington Post, here are some of America’s coolest music venues:

  • 9:30 Club – Washington, D.C. – It’s one of America’s best-known rock clubs, even though it fits only 1,200 patrons. Bob Dylan played there. So did the Beastie Boys. It’s a must see for any music fan visiting the nation’s capitol.
  • The Surf Ballroom – Clear Lake, Iowa – How’s this for music history … The Surf Ballroom was one of the first places to book rock acts like Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Everly Brothers.
  • Great American Music Hall – San Francisco – It’s San Francisco’s oldest and most celebrated nightclubs. It’s beautiful, with balconies and marble columns. It’s also haunted.
  • Red Rocks Amphitheatre – Morrison, Colorado – This venue is actually carved into the Rocky Mountains. And, the first band to step up on stage was The Beatles.
