our newborn is already in a barred bed, and now they want to put an ankle bracelet on him. A new San Francisco based company is trying to make the lives of new parents a little easier.
Introducing the Sproutling Baby Monitor, comprised of three parts: a wearable band, a smart charger, and a mobile app. Now there’s a baby monitor ankle bracelet for your little ankle biter.
The ingenious product was invented by a team of new parents and former engineers at Apple and Google, along with the help of child pediatric specialists and PhD scientists.
Sproutling co-founder Chris Bruce offers, “As parents ourselves, we wanted something that could tell us how our baby was doing when they weren’t moving or making noise and when we were unable to pay full attention, like when showering or sleeping.”
The device can do things like: monitor your baby’s heart rate or detect when it’s likely to wake up, determine what mood your baby is in when it wakes up, or if the room is too bright or hot for your baby to sleep comfortably. It’s also hypoallergenic, washing machine safe, waterproof, and can even put a stop to your television enjoyment by letting you know if Game of Thrones is a little too loud and maybe disturbing your little one.
The $299 device is available for pre-order, but won’t be in your sleep deprived hands until the end of 2015.
