The State of Fast Food

Posted August 11th, 2014 @ 4:58am by Chilli Amar

Every year, the fast food industry magazine QSR does a bunch of research and publishes a big story about the Top 50 fast food brands.

Here are some interesting discoveries from the story:

  • Despite being the number one ranked fast food brand, McDonald’s is worried about Taco Bell's breakfast menu.
  • Dunkin' Donuts – ranked number seven – actually added more stores last year than Starbucks, which ranked number three.
  • Wendy’s – ranked fourth – and Burger King – ranked fifth – closed more stores than they opened.
  • The difference in sales between the top of the list and McAlister’s Deli, which was at the bottom of the list, was over $35 billion. The good news for McAlister's Deli is ... there’s room to grow!

And, here’s a full rundown of the Top 10 fast food brands:

  1. McDonald’s
  2. Subway
  3. Starbucks
  4. Wendy's
  5. Burger King
  6. Taco Bell
  7. Dunkin' Donuts
  8. Pizza Hut
  9. Chick-fil-A
  10. KFC
