There are a number of new laws in effect today, July 1st in Maryland, DC and Virginia. From minimum wage increases in both DC and Maryland, to being able to now advertise Happy Hour specials in Virginia. Some of these laws also include more protection for student athletes, after that young football player died at University of Maryland. By the way, I did notice that the minimum wage increase in DC puts the minimum was over the Montgomery County minimum wage, so if you're looking for a new job and you're flexible, may want to take that one into account.
