What's happening on The Mall for the Apollo 11 50th anniversary

It's a very special anniversary this week...the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. I have always been fascinated by space and our space program (maybe it stems from growing up in Houston and making so many field trips to the NASA Space Center there!)...so I've been intently following what's about to happen at The Mall.

Beginning tonight (Tuesday), a Saturn V rocket will be projected onto the Washington Monument! Isn't that cool? The 363-foot Saturn V projection is a first display of its kind for the Monument and will light up the historic site starting Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. And then on Friday and Saturday evenings, you can experience a special 17-minute show called “Apollo 50: Go for the Moon." The production will play on large screens before the rocket takes off!
