Macy's Pulls Dinner Plates After Body Image Backlash

I am going to have to say I side with the critics on this one. Hear me out. From someone who has struggled with body image since they were a child, and has been on weight watchers, suffered with an eating disorder and continuously worry about what and how much I eat, I don't need a plate reminding me that I may be eating too much. Also, look at the "skinny jeans" portion... that may come off as a joke to a lot of people, but for folks like myself who log every single calorie they eat every day, I would feel guilty if I went outside of the "skinny jean" portion. Sounds stupid? I know. I know that it is, but it doesn't mean I can teach myself to stop feeling that way. I already have plates with a smaller food section and larger rim to avoid over eating. I drink over the recommended water, daily... and if I eat a burger, I try to stay at just half. It's the times when I let myself feel free and STOP thinking about how this cookie, this wine, this sandwich will affect my waste line that I long for... and these plates would be a constant reminder that I'm not "skinny jean" perfect. Crazy, a plate can bring that all out in someone, right? Who knew.
