Fairfax County has announced that they are joining the likes of Montgomery County and Washington DC and installing a plastic bag tax beginning in the new year.
So what does that mean? It means that you'll be charged $.05 for every plastic bag you use at a store (think along the lines of grocery stores, convenience stores and drugstores). So best to find your reusable bags and start bringing them into stores with you! It'll save you money + help save the environment by reducing single-use bags.
The tax begins on January 1, 2022.
