It's official. Facebook is getting a new name...and that name is Meta.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement during a Connect event and explained that they "are a company that builds technology to connect.”
“Right now, our brand is so tightly linked to one product,” he said. “But over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.”
He reassured us that aside from the name, the apps and brands will remain as we know them along with their mission of bringing people together.
