CHEATERS!
We're learning the YANKEES did indeed steal signs - and CHEAT - to win games several years ago... and even more damning: we're learning the cheating... was covered up!
This stuff has all the makings of a movie. While cheating - and the allegations of sign-stealing - were widespread across the league with several teams, this is the first time the contents of the so-called "Yankees Letter" were leaked. The letter hand been under seal, which was set to expire by a judge's order in a few days. What we now know... is incredible:
1) It was a note from the commissioner to the Yankee's GM, Brian Cashman.
2) It outlined the scheme the Yanks used to relay stolen signs in 2015 and 2016. It also shows Manfred appears to have hid the truth from the public in 2017 when he released a statement saying the "Yankees didn't cheat."
But oh, did they cheat.
This makes me wonder just how wide-spread this cheating is. Is it still happening? Have things been solved?
Who knows. But this... is SHADY.
