Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour has been put on pause because the band’s frontman Chris Martin is in sick bay. The band announced they have to postpone eight Brazilian shows because Chris is battling a lung infection.
“With deep regret, we’ve been forced to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo until early 2023,” the band shares. “Due to a serious lung infection, Chris has been put under strict doctor’s orders to rest for the next three weeks.”
Postponed shows include two dates in Rio De Janeiro (October 11 & 12th), and six dates (October 15, 16, 18, 19, 21, & 22) in Sao Paulo. Fans are being told to hold on to their tickets for the new dates. So far there’s no word on whether it will affect their 10-night stand in Buenos Aires, which is due to kick off October 25th.
The band notes, “we are optimistic Chris will return to good health after the prescribed medical break and look forward to resuming the tour soon.”
