A Tokyo-based art school offers classes that guide students in smile techniques designed to land jobs in a post-mask world. A 20-year-old student taking the course says: “I hadn't used my facial muscles much during COVID so it's good exercise.” The company's name translates to “Smile Education” and requires participants to hold up mirrors to their faces and contour their faces by stretching their cheeks and eyes in ways that open up their faces to more approachable and much-improved smiles.
