24-year-old Camryn Spina worked for seven days as a sports coach before finding out she had never been hired for the job. What's worse? She moved from Florida to Virginia for the gig.
Spina says she applied for a job as a cheerleading coach at a Virginia college. She was asked by the head coach to visit the college, who also said he wanted to hire her for the role.
Spina emailed the head coach and even moved to Virginia, but never received an official contract from the school. She began the job on August 1st and worked for a week before HR told her they had decided to move on with other applicants.
The college's HR department has since given Spina $1,600. "I now know not to move forward with anything until I get official documents back instead of trusting that they'll be coming eventually," Spina said.
