A store in Paris has gained notoriety by letting customers steal…IF they can outrun a professional sprinter when they flee the store. For one day last month, Paris’ Distance boutique lived by the slogan, “ROB IT TO GET IT” and tapped French Olympian Méba Mickael Zeze, who’s run the 100-meter dash in under 10 seconds, to catch the culprits.
So, how did the PR stunt work out? Out of the 76 customers who ran out of the shop with merch in hand, only two were able to get away with free stuff…and that was really more of a technicality since one man and one woman crossed the intersection just as the light at the crosswalk turned red.
