Holiday travel just got a little sweeter for passengers departing from Philadelphia International Airport. In a heartwarming move that aims to bring friends and family closer, the airport is introducing the PHL Wingmate Pass, a unique offering set to begin on November 1, just in time for the holiday season.
This pass, described as an "exclusive amenity," allows non-traveler guests to accompany their ticketed friends or family past security checkpoints, offering precious extra moments together before flights. Whether it's a final hug before take-off or a surprise for someone arriving on a domestic flight, the PHL Wingmate Pass makes it possible.
To access this wonderful opportunity, non-ticketed guests can apply for a free one-day pass. These passes grant access to the airport's secure terminals from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It's the result of an influx of inquiries from people eager to spend more time with their loved ones at the airport, and Megan O'Connell, the director of marketing and branding at Philadelphia International Airport, shared that it was created with the intent of helping passengers and their families stay connected.
If you're planning to visit a traveler at this airport, you can conveniently complete an online application one to seven days in advance of your visit. Whether you apply in advance or on the same day, you'll receive an email notification with your application status. If approved, you'll be given a digital Wingmate Pass for access at the airport's D/E or A-East security checkpoints.
Besides the heartwarming reunions, this pass also offers exclusive deals at select food and shops concessions within the airport. So, if you're planning to travel via Philadelphia International Airport or greeting someone there, this new initiative promises to make your experience even more heartwarming and memorable.
