A growing number of rom-com fanatics are taking that storybook plot and applying it to their real-life weddings.
Thanks to the Hallmark Channel's huge roster of holiday romances, couples are increasingly likely to book their nuptials for November or December -- ideally at a venue that will have snow falling or on the ground.
Kathy Sanders of Pennsylvania's Hotel Bethlehem says that Christmastime weddings are hotter than ever and Bethlehem, just a two-hour drive from Manhattan, has become the place for Christmas nuptials. Not only is the city a designated “Hallmark Channel Holiday Hometown,” but it goes so all out for the holidays it's been nicknamed “Christmas City.”
Holiday vow exchanges are just as hot -- or cool -- in Los Angeles. But since the weather doesn't usually cooperate, couples have faux snow trucked in, courtesy of Hollywood special effects artists. No one will know the difference unless they try to start a snowball fight.
