Traffic on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge will be temporarily halted late Monday morning to accommodate the passage of the Dali, a cargo ship that recently collided with Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing its collapse. The Dali is en route to its destination in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Maryland Transport Authority (MDTA) announced that, "out of an abundance of caution," traffic on the Bay Bridge will be suspended on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon as the Dali passes beneath it.
This precautionary measure was taken after consultation with the U.S. Coast Guard. The Dali will be escorted by four tug boats, providing anchoring support to ensure a safe journey to Norfolk.
Please plan accordingly and expect delays during this time.
