The Top 40 Most Boring Things in Life

Ever found yourself sighing in frustration as you wait for the kettle to boil or the Wi-Fi to reconnect? You’re not alone. A recent survey of 2,000 adults revealed the most boring aspects of everyday life, and unsurprisingly, losing access to Wi-Fi topped the list.

The study also highlighted other mundane frustrations, like waiting for websites to load, enduring company meetings, and even hearing about the latest in politics. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ongoing media presence, coronavirus press conferences, and unskippable video ads also made the cut for life's dullest moments.

More surprising entries include taking food photos for social media, listening to Coldplay, and the dreaded task of taking out the trash. Even waiting for a partner to get ready ranked among life's most tedious experiences.

The survey, commissioned by Jet2holidays, found that 40% of adults feel their lives are currently "quite boring" or "very boring." However, there’s hope—72% said they plan to add more excitement to their routines this year. The top plan? Taking vacations. In fact, half of those surveyed aim to break the monotony by booking at least two trips.

A Jet2holidays spokesperson commented, "There are plenty of things we find mind-numbing, but the last couple of years have amplified that. We hope these findings inspire people to seek more fun in life—it’s out there, waiting to be explored."

On average, adults spend 85 minutes a day feeling bored, which adds up to about 22 days a year. Many are eager for a change, with popular boredom-busters including holidays, reading, exercising, and spending time with friends.

So, if you’re looking to shake off the boredom, why not plan that getaway you’ve been dreaming of? The world is full of exciting things to do—whether it’s a boat trip, visiting a museum, or simply lounging on the beach.
