The City of Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival welcomes visitors for its 23rd spectacular season. The wondrous display of lights at Seneca Creek State Park will be open nightly November 23 through December 31, Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Please note that the Festival will be closed on December 25.
The park is located at 11950 Clopper Road, just a few miles west of the intersection with I-270.
Admission is $12 per car Monday through Thursday and $17 per car Friday through Sunday. Purchase conveniently online in advance, or by cash or credit card at the gate.
In the spirit of the holidays, a portion of the proceeds from the 2018 Festival will benefit local nonprofit organizations including Comfort Cases, Inc., Metropolitan Ballet Theatre & Academy, OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of and Services for Individuals with Special Needs), and Unity of Gaithersburg.
The 3.5-mile drive through the enchanted woodland setting of Seneca Creek State Park takes you past more than 450 illuminated displays and beautifully lit park trees that brighten the night. Festival favorites include Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Toyland, Victorian Village, and the North Pole.
Bring your four-legged friends and the whole family out for an invigorating 1 or 3-mile walk at Leashes ‘n’ Lights on Tuesday, November 20th from 6 to 9 p.m. Purchase tickets online. Please note that the S’more Lights event scheduled on Friday, November 16th and the Wine Under the Lights event scheduled for Sunday, November 18th have already sold out.
