The National Cooperative Business Association is kicking off Co-op Month with a two-day Co-op Festival on the National Mall, Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th. Bring the family for the free, fun-filled Co-op festival featuring live music, children’s activities and giveaways from your favorite co-ops like REI, Organic Valley, Cabot Creamery, Riceland, Sunkist, America’s Credit Unions and more.
Come learn about energy and electricity at the NRECA tent! You can get your picture taken with NRECA mascots “Solar Sam” and “LED Lucy,” check out an electric car and much more! Stop by the Organic Valley Kid’s Zone for fun activities! Kids can learn how to milk a cow, learn how to make butter, play bean bag toss, hang out at the coloring book station and much more! Adults can play cornhole and eat cheese samples while kids earn their Co-op Community Scout Patch at the Cabot Creamery tent! Enjoy demonstrations from REI on stage through the day at the Co-op Festival! Learn how rice is grown with Riceland and find out their stainability efforts by stopping by their Duck’s Unlimited duck blind. You can also take home fresh rice!
