Eugene Onegin at The Barns at Wolf Trap - 3pm Show

Tchaikovsky

Eugene Onegin

Pushkin’s sweeping novel comes vividly to life in Tchaikovsky’s masterful opera. Arrogant Onegin’s careless rejection of innocent Tatyana’s confession of love sets into motion a series of events ending in a fatal duel. This deeply moving Russian tale of love, rejection, and remorse is brimming with highly melodic arias and a sweeping score.

Music by Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky

Libretto by Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky and Konstantin Shilovsky

Based on the eponymous novel by Alexander Pushkin
