Body Found in Wyoming Confirmed to be Gabby Petito, Death Ruled Homicide

The news we feared has been confirmed. The young female body that authorities discovered in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming over the weekend has been identified as Gabby Petito, the 22-year-old from Florida who never returned home after embarking on a cross country trip with her fiance, Brian Laundrie.

FBI Denver shared in a tweet that the Teton County Coroner, Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains' identity as Petito and that her death has been ruled a homicide. The final autopsy results,, which have yet to be shared, will reveal the cause of death.

Laundrie returned to Florida from the trip without Petitio and has since gone missing himself, shortly after national news picked up the story. TMZ shared footage today that suggests he may have been spotted on a trail camera 500 miles away from his North Port, FL home.
