No longer will you fear for your life trying to navigate DC's infamous Dave Thomas Circle.
Since the Wendy's that rightfully earned the intersection of Florida and New York Ave its nickname has shut their doors, the city has shared a proposed redesign that would make the commute in that area seemingly less death defying.
High-visibility crosswalks with audible pedestrian signals, protected bicycle lanes, two-way traffic on First Street and Florida Avenue and three new public gathering spaces are to be expected with the new plan. Summer 2022 is the predicted start date for construction.
