Montgomery Co. Restaurants Required to Offer Healthy Meal Option for Kids

Montgomery County is now the first county in the country to pass the Healthy Meals for Children bill, which requires restaurants in Montgomery County to offer a healthy option (meal and drink) on their kid's menu.

This new bill went into effect on Friday, September 15th. While the restaurants are required to offer the healthy option for kids, it is important to note the customer is not required to order it. This bill is just to give parents and children an option to choose a healthy meal and drink if they so desire.

I personally love this because Eleanor has never really been a chicken tenders and mac & cheese kid. She always ends up ordering salmon or steak off the main menu and then eats half of it and it costs way more than I'd like to spend on a 9 year old!

What do you think of this new bill?
