Breaking News: The Legendary HFStival Returns This Summer!

Get ready for some nostalgic vibes and mosh pit fun as the iconic HFStival is making a comeback this summer! Mark your calendars for September 21, 2024, because Nationals Park is set to host this legendary event.

Though details are sparse, the renowned 9:30 Club and Nationals Park hinted at the festival's return on Instagram. Their post, featuring a collage of crowd shots, mosh pits, and vintage paper tickets, announced: "HFSTIVAL, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 • NATIONALS PARK."

The post quickly sparked excitement, with fans reminiscing about the '90s and early '00s. One commenter joked, "Are we going to have to camp out at Mailbox Etc for tickets?" while another added, "I’ll be in ticket line outside Hecht’s at Landmark Mall."

For those who might not know, HFStival was a massive annual music festival in the D.C. and Baltimore area, held at venues like the now-closed RFK Stadium. It featured top names in college and alt rock, hip-hop, and even genres like swing, with past performers including Beck, The Prodigy, and Tony Bennett. The festival was closely tied to the WHFS radio station, which was known for its progressive rock playlist before abruptly switching to a Spanish-language format in 2005.

It seems HFStival's "last goodbye" might not be so final after all. We're eagerly awaiting more details about the lineup and ticket sales. Stay tuned for updates, and get ready to relive the glory days of HFStival!
