Golden Retriever Life: Spreading Smiles
If you love dogs and are active on social media, you've likely seen "Golden Retriever Life (GRL)" featuring Kevin and Katie Bubolz and their golden retrievers, Ellie and Emma. With over 9 million followers, GRL is famous for its adorable dog videos and helpful training tips. They've even appeared on shows like "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "The Rachael Ray Show." Beyond entertaining content, Kevin and Katie are passionate about philanthropy.
“Our focus has and always will be on our mission to spread smiles,” says Kevin. Alongside Katie, he has embarked on a full-time entrepreneurial journey. “We hope our fun-loving content featuring Ellie and Emma brings happiness to your life. We are a community that celebrates the joy of having a dog and the many ways they enrich our lives.”
Kevin, an Army Veteran with an MBA, and Katie, a former speech-language pathologist, shifted their careers to focus on spreading smiles through animal-assisted therapy. Kevin's experiences as an Army pilot highlighted the mental health benefits of animal interactions, inspiring him to get Ellie and volunteer in schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. When the pandemic hit in 2020, they pivoted to social media.
In 2022, GRL connected with Warrior Canine Connection (WCC), an organization that trains service dogs for veterans. “WCC’s model is unique and impressive,” Kevin says. GRL's support includes collaboration videos and fundraisers, like the 4x4x48 Challenge, which raised over $34,000 for WCC.
