Big Tex's Tasty Temptations: A Sneak Peek at This Year's Texas State Fair Food

Planning to start a pre-holiday diet? You might want to hold off if you’re heading to the Texas State Fair in Dallas. From September 27th to October 20th, the State Fair of Texas will showcase its famous food scene, with vendors bringing their A-game to create indulgent, mouth-watering dishes.

Here’s a preview of some of the most creative (and calorie-packed) eats on the menu this year:

  • Cheeseception: A grilled cheese sandwich nestled between two more grilled cheese sandwiches.
  • Churro Crumble Cheesecake: New York-style cheesecake dipped in milk chocolate and rolled in churro crumbs.
  • Cookie Butter Nachos: Cinnamon-sugar tortilla chips topped with cookie butter cheesecake filling.
  • Dickel's Triple Meat Big Back Snack: Layers of street corn, smoked brisket, smoked gouda mac and cheese, topped with a biscuit, burnt ends, sausage, and maple waffle-flavored potato slices.
  • Holy Cheeseus: White pizza with layers of Pecorino Romano, mozzarella, provolone, asiago, Parmesan–Reggiano, ricotta, mascarpone, olive oil, black pepper, and hot honey.
  • Lay's Potato Chip Drink: A blend of mango, citrus, jalapeno syrup, hot honey, strawberry drizzle, and sweet foam, topped with Lay’s Sweet & Spicy Honey Chips.
  • The Nephew: A glazed doughnut topped with brisket, mozzarella, honey, and powdered sugar.
