A retired Australian couple has found a unique and adventurous way to spend their golden years, by cruising the world instead of moving into a retirement home. Marty and Jess Ansen have been aboard Princess Cruises’ Coral Princess for nearly 500 days, booking 51 consecutive cruises since June 2022. Their journey started after Australia’s strict COVID-19 lockdowns lifted, and they haven’t looked back.
Surprisingly, the couple claims their cruise lifestyle is cheaper than staying in a retirement home. On board, they enjoy the perks of endless entertainment, daily meals, and even housekeeping services. For the Ansens, cruising isn’t just a vacation—it’s their way of life, filled with dancing, dining, and exploring the world from the comfort of a luxury ship. They plan to continue cruising for two years, making the high seas their retirement haven.
