Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. has been ruled out for Sunday's (November 3) game against the the New York Giants, the team announced prior to kickoff.

Robinson, who leads the Commanders with 461 rushing yards, was included on the inactives list along with quarterback Jeff Drisekl (listed as the team's emergency third quarterback), safety Darrick Forrest, tight end Colson Yankoff, linebacker Dominique Hampton and tackle Cornelius Lucas.

Robinson was limited in practice last week due to a hamstring injury, though the Commanders were optimistic that he could be active for Sunday's game prior to ruling him out less than two hours before kickoff.

Robinson previously missed Washington's Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens due to a knee injury, but appeared in each of the next two games, wins against the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears. The Commanders elevated second-year running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. off the practice squad Saturday (November 2) afternoon in case Robinson would be unavailable and also have Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols, both of whom have served as third-down backs during the 2024 season.

Ekeler has recorded 240 rushing yards, as well as 19 receptions for 207 yards, while McNichols has recorded 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
