MAKE YOOU MONDAY

At the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, something special is happening — a new adaptive tennis program that’s proving the game is truly for everyone.

The program was launched through a U.S. Tennis Association initiative to make tennis more inclusive and accessible for athletes of all abilities. It started with a simple idea: every person, no matter their physical challenges, should have the chance to experience the joy and connection that come from being on the court.

To make that vision real, the USTA began training coaches to work with athletes who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility — teaching them how to adapt drills, rethink movement, and build confidence in every swing.

At the Junior Tennis Champions Center, that mission comes alive every day. Players of all abilities hit the court together, sharing laughter, determination, and a love of the game. Coaches aren’t just teaching technique; they’re helping athletes find freedom, community, and pride through play.

Because here, it’s not about having two feet on the ground. It’s about giving everyone the chance to pick up a racket, feel the thrill of a good shot, and belong.
