Limiting screen time for kids is always a challenge for parents these days. My husband and I are very mindful of how much television or YouTube our almost four-year old son watches...but it's a constant struggle.
Most days, Donato only gets to watch TV while I'm making dinner...or while my husband and I are trying to have a conversation at dinner. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to try something new. I asked Donato to help me make dinner. He was very excited. I was a bit skeptical about getting him involved...but it has turned into my favorite part of the day. It's a great way for us to make memories and bond.
Yes...having him "help" slows me down...but kids grow up fast. We get only one chance to get it right. Some sacrifices are well worth it.
