Former NFL kicker and CBS commentator Jay Feely came under fire over the weekend for a photo he took with his daughter and her prom date.
The problem Twitter had with the photo is that Feely was holding a gun and he wrote, "Wishing my beautiful daughter and her date a great time at prom #BadBoys." Feely tweeted the photo Saturday night, and by Sunday morning he had received so much criticism.
So much criticism that he issued an apology. He explained, in a tweet, "The prom picture I posted was obviously intended to be a joke. My Daughter has dated her boyfriend for over a year and they knew I was joking. I take gun safety seriously (the gun was not loaded and had no clip in) and I did not intend to be insensitive to that important issue."
