If you have kids who love dinosaurs and are looking for a fun, covid-friendly activity...then check out Dino Safari at National Harbor. Since the beginning of the pandemic, my husband and I have been trying to find things to do with our seven-year old. We have gone on a number of hikes, but Donato usually complains that it isn't "fun" for him. So, when we saw that Dino Safari was coming back into town, we bought a ticket ($50) and set out for our adventure on Sunday.
The weather was perfect...which meant we could open our sunroof and windows to get a better look at the over 40 huge moving dinosaurs that were spread across the parking lot at National Harbor's plateau. When we first told Donato we were going to see dinosaurs, he didn't seem thrilled. He didn't like the idea that we were going to be sitting in our car for an activity...but once we arrived, he was mesmerized.
We listened to the audio tour through our phone app, so we got to learn interesting stats about each dinosaur that we drove next to. Kids were hanging out of window and sunroofs with big smiles on their faces. Even the adults looked like they were enjoying themselves. Before we were even halfway through the drive (which takes about 40-60 min), Donato was asking if we could do it again.
I posted a few photos and video from our adventure if you want to check it out.
