Target shoppers and employees are having a rough Saturday due to a technical issue that has registers and inventory systems down at stores across the country.
Customers took to social media to express their frustration with the outage that is preventing cashiers from scanning product bar codes.
According to the official Target News Twitter account, the company is aware of the issue and is working to get things up and running again as soon as possible.
"We’re aware that guests are currently unable to make purchases at Target stores. Our teams are troubleshooting now and we apologize for the inconvenience. We will provide an update as soon as possible."
On the official Target Facebook page, customers chimed in with their store experiences and thoughts about the outage.
"Target in La Quinta did a great job handling the situation and long wait! An employee was handing out cookies & popcorn. They were doing all manual entry at the registers. Surprisingly a lot of people weren't cranky about it."
"Did you try turning the store off and then back on again?"
"We had a very enterprising cashier who used her phone to scan the code, got it to the cash register and was able to check us out. Great job Roswell, GA Target. Nice to see we still have young people who can problem solve."
"I'm just here for the impatient non-retail people making know-it-all comments."
Surprisingly it seems most people are handling the catastrophe well... and with a sense of humor!
