A 45th anniversary screening of The Godfather I and II at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival brought out: Francis Ford Coppola, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, James Caan, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall and Talia Shire.
Among the highlights reported by Vanity Fair:
Duvall: “During the wedding scene, we were all mooning each other.”
And these quotes from Coppola:
“I was disappointed in the book when I first read it.”
“It could be made today, but it wouldn’t get the go-ahead.”
“I was told by the president [of Paramount]…’Brando will not appear in this picture, and I prohibit you from bringing up his name again.’”
