Who owns the world's largest collection of Hello Kitty memorabilia?
Surprise! According to Guinness Records, it’s a 67-year-old Japanese man.
Retired policeman Masao Gunji began collecting during the 1980s. Now he owns more than 10,000 Hello Kitty items - all displayed in his pink home adorned with HK wallpaper.
The Guinness people made him bring a part of his collection to them – and few enough to be counted in eight hours. Still, they accepted 5,169 items as authentic…beating the previous record-holder by 650 pieces.
Today Hello Kitty fans from all over Japan and the world visit his home to take in all the cute pinkness.
