Wake up in middle of the night? Don't do THIS

Waking up in the middle of the night is no big deal for some people, but it’s a really awful thing for others. If you're like most of us, waking up in the middle of the night means just using the bathroom and falling back to sleep later. For a lot of us, though, it means staying up for literal hours.

Dr. Michael Breus, who's known as "The Sleep Doctor", says this is due in large part to stress. Stress about not getting enough sleep, stress about work the next day, or just general life thoughts are enough to keep anyone awake.

So what's the fix? Relaxation. Breus suggests not checking your phone, not thinking about the time or how much sleep you're loosing.  Chances are it will only keep you up. Not to mention, when you do decide to pace your living room for 20-minutes, you're only encouraging a higher heart rate, which can keep you up for even longer.
