Just last year, Ballou High School in D.C. was a mess. Only 3% of the students there qualified for reading standards and more than a quarter of the faculty members quit their jobs out of frustration.
But this year’s Senior class wanted to change all that and committed to turning things around.
Amazingly, each and every one of the 170 students who graduated from Ballou High School this year received at least one college acceptance, at schools such as Penn State, Virginia State and Florida’s Bethune Cookman University.
It was a team effort, for sure, with both the students and the faculty working together to make it happen.
And now, thanks to that hard work and dedication, the future looks much brighter for the 170 teenagers who walked across the stage during their graduation ceremony.
