A school resource officer named Blaine Gaskill is being hailed as a hero for his quick response to a shooting at Great Mills High School in Maryland yesterday.
Gaskill, who is also a SWAT Team officer, shot and killed 17-year-old Austin Rollins after he opened fire inside the hallway and struck two students. 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey is hospitalized in critical condition and a 14-year-old boy is listed in good condition. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said, "While it’s still tragic, he may have saved other people’s lives." (Baltimore Sun)
