Will this snow affect our cherry blossoms?

Last we heard from the National Park Service, this wintry weather WILL NOT affect peak bloom, which is predicted between March 27th and 31st.

On Monday, lots of cherry tree buds at the Tidal Basin were in the late stage of phase two. “Two out of six — where six is peak bloom,” according to National Mall spokesman Mike Litterst.

It’s when the buds are further along that temperatures at or below 29 to 27 degrees pose a threat.

So, YAY!
