The Reputation Stadium Tour arrived rolled into Aretha Franklin’s hometown last night. Naturally, Taylor Swift paid her respects.
Taylor paused the Detroit show to express her admiration. She said, "We lost an irreplaceable force. Aretha Franklin did so much for music. So much for women's rights. So much for civil rights. She was one of those people that no matter what glowing positive thing you said about her, it was an understatement.”
Taylor asked the cheering crowd of 50,000 to take a moment to “reflect on our love and respect for her.” The entire stadium at Ford Field fell silent for a full minute. Taylor then broke into her love song "Delicate." (Billboard)
