I'm superstitious when it comes to our Nats

My husband likes to refer to me as the “Kiss Of Death”…because over the years, every time he’s gotten me a sports jersey for a player I like (Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow, Ryan Zimmerman), said player has wound up injured – RIGHT after I got and wore my new jersey.

And my history with my #11 Nats jersey has been especially frustrating…it’s a bit of a long story so I’ll keep it short. Basically, the last 3 times John has gotten us Nats tickets (and bless him, he splurged each time and bought great seats near 1st base so I could see my man Zimmerman)…well, Ryan has been out, with an injury.

So, I have been AFRAID to wear my Zimm jersey during the postseason for fear of jinxing my favorite player and the team as a whole.

And honestly, it stinks…because today of all days, as our Nats celebrate going to the World Series for the first time, I can’t show my support.

You may think I’m being silly, but I legit HAVE WONDERED if I’m a curse! So, I figure, better to be safe than sorry.

I’ll get myself a Nats NLC sweatshirt and wear THAT during the Fall Classic, but the last thing I wanna do is put on my jersey. ‘Cause if I ruin this for the Nats…after DC has waited EIGHTY SIX years to make it back to the WS, I’ll never forgive myself!
