Ok, so...a few weeks ago, the founder of PETA suggested that referring to your pet as a PET is derogatory...and that we need to stop using expressions like "taking the bull by the horns"...that what we say has power. Admittedly, our words DO...and PETA Director Ingrid Newkirk would simply like for us all to think of how we label animals, especially for the younger generation which looks up to us adults for guidance and as examples.
I will say that she makes good points and I applaud Ingrid for her many years of work advocating for those with no voice of their own. Listen to the podcast and feel free to let me know YOUR thoughts.
