Watching tv the other night...I saw a commercial for one of my favorite places in the world: Ocean City, Maryland (true story...even though I had lived here for many years, I had never been to OC until my husband took me there for the 1st time, in 2012...and I simply fell in love with it!) . The commercial is very poignant, reminding us that Ocean City will be there for us, once all this is over. The boardwalk. The Thrasher's fries. The Doughrollers pizza. Seacrets. The Kite Loft. The Jolly Roger Amusement Park. The Dolly's Saltwater Taffy. I could go on and on. Oh, wait...I forgot our favorite place to sit and have a beer: The Frog Bar!
The thing is...seeing the commercial really made me think about all the things I used to take for granted, and maybe you did, too. A beach weekend. Going to the movies. Hanging out in person with our friends. Hugging those friends. Going to a Nats game or a concert. Again, I could go on about all the things we used to do before this. And my hope is that once life returns to at least some semblance of what it used to be, the silver lining in all this will have been...that we've learned to stop and smell the roses. Live in the moment and never take simple things for granted again.
I certainly plan to try.
