Overnight, Hurricane Laura blew ashore near the Louisiana/Texas border as a Category 4 storm with winds of up to 150 miles per hour. There's major damage and reports of one fatality. Laura is now a Category 2 as it continues to batter Louisiana. The storm is expected to keep on heading North through Arkansas...then take a turn to the East and go through Tennessee and if it stays on that course, we'll get the remnants here in the DMV on Saturday.
Here's what it looked like as crews from The Weather Channel broadcasted throughout the night with live updates...some brave folks!
